The holidays are already here! Just check the stores. You’ll see. The holidays even overwhelmed Thanksgiving! Of course, many have relatives and friends that they could thank; but thanksgiving to God doesn’t seem important to some since they no longer believe in a generous, benevolent God.
The holidays are fun and it is exciting to spend time with family, open gifts, and enjoy a special vacation time. And, then, suddenly it is all over. Decorations put away, the tree on the curb, the wrappings and trappings no longer in sight, vacations ended.
- Ho, everyone!
- Outrageous fun—
- Lawful or not—
- Indulge a lot!
- Deny God’s love
- A home above?
- You’ll miss His plea (Isaiah 45:22)
- Salvation’s free!
But then there is that special gift, available to all, at any time, paid in full, and never ending in this life and throughout eternity. Jesus Christ is the Giver to anyone willing to be a receiver (Romans 6:23) He says:
- Choose, now, this goal:
- Humble your soul,
- Release your pride (1 Peter 5:6),
- In Me confide.
- Savior, I’ll be,
- Trust now in Me (Proverbs 3:5).
So how about you? Have you received Christ’s free gift yet? If not, why not? What could possibly be more important than a guarantee of sins forgiven and an eternal home in heaven?
Let all the world look to Me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.
– Isaiah 45:22
…the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
– Romans 6:23
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honor.
– 1 Peter 5:6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
– Proverbs 3:5
