1 Give careful thought to your way of life.
What are your priorities?
Job?
House?
Family?
Relaxation?
2 Take a good hard look at your life.
Are you truly happy with how things are turning out for you?
With your job?
Salary, co-workers satisfactory?
With your house?
No repairs or redecoration needed?
With your family?
Everyone working together and loving each other?
With your relaxation?
Enough time, not bored?
3 Think about your past.
Could you / should you have done anything differently?
4 Look at what is happening to you.
Are you really in control,
or do you suspect that you are only a pawn on the chessboard of life?
Would you want the Hand that is moving you to be your Friend or your enemy?
Thus the Old Testament prophet Haggai challenged the people of his day.
Things had not been going well.
Results had not been as they had hoped.
They were becoming jaded.
Haggai urged them:
“Put God first!”
“Clean up your act!”
“Get to work!”
“Do things God’s way and then enjoy God’s favor and blessing!”
Read Haggai Chapter One and think: what God is saying through Haggai to the Jews about His temple and their lack of success in life, is what God is saying to you regarding His “temple” in your life and your spiritual failure or success.
CONSIDER YOUR WAYS.
